Ryusei
Location: Kazengakure
Notoriety: 4
Size: Medium
History: The Ryusei existed long before the creation of any of the villages, as did many of the clans and tribes which now serve as the backbones of ninja hierarchies with the dominant village system. Prior to their inclusion to Kazangakure they existed mainly as a reclusive group which dominated large swathes of the less mountainous territories to the east of the present day Volcanic Village. While never an overly large tribe, they mainly sold their craftsmanship and, more often, their personal military might to any feudal lord who may request it.
Once this new village arose and began conglomerating power, the Ryusei eventually migrated and settled into the network roughly two years after the inception of Kazangakure. Shortly after, the Uchiha arrived but, having already moved their entire people to this new local of riches and comfort, the leaders decided to stay. This displeased some, though for the most part relations were average and, like nearly everyone else, the Ryusei suffered at the hands of the dominant Sharingan-wielding monsters which had invaded their home.
As the years passed, the Ryusei assimilated rather well into the new ninja system, thanks to their rather aggressive disposition and powerful bodies and blood line. To this day a large majority of the clan speak out publicly against the Uchiha, even though relationships have generally become less hostile. Many among the clan feel that, if it were to come to a fight, they could match the Uchiha despite the numerical advantage.
Culture: Born in the shadow of the prestigious Uchiha clan, the Ryusei grew into a war-savvy clan out of sheer necessity. While their numbers, fame, and power never touched that of their faux-rival, they excelled as a powerful unit of fighters thanks, in equal parts, to their unique bodies and extreme willfulness. While the clan would not formally state that the Uchiha are their rivals and it’s unclear how much these would-be foes care about the feud, many of the clan view the wielders of the Sharingan in a somewhat negative light.
Internally, the clan is hyper competitive due mostly to the nature of their bloodline. Because the occurrence rate of the kekkei genkai is so relatively low, children born with it are highly coveted and praised. Additionally, because the mutation has a large variance in how much it spreads across each individual, those with numerically higher amounts of siphons are typically viewed as more capable than those with less. On the other hand, females with fewer siphons are typically thought to be more beautiful and there is a high amount of pressure for both genders to have symmetrical vents. The striation, while physically obvious, has not created a full caste system though as hard work and skill can still trump even the most gifted with the blood.
While the low expression of the genes has caused some struggles in the clan, it has also caused some good. The genes appear to care little for the purity of the bloodline and, as such, the clan has not fallen into xenophobia (beyond the Uchiha) or inbreeding. External marriages are rather common, though generally the Ryusei attempt to enfold the external group rather than lose one of their own.
Traits: The illustrious bloodline of the Ryusei family manifests itself in a fairly low rate, even for pure born members. Roughly 40% of males and 20% of females exhibit the bloodline and, unfortunately, one cannot obtain it after birth.
The actual bloodline is visibly obviously to anyone who meets a Tenya as their body is covered in a collection of small “vents” and siphons from nearly all portions of their body, with the only consistent exceptions being the face and nether regions. These openings do not open into their actual body but instead connect only to their own, close network, though the clan possesses extra, internal tenketsu which innervate the system. Aesthetically, the vents vary from person to person, though they never protrude more than a few millimeters from the fresh.
This system of what are essentially tubes allow fluids to pass freely through the clansmen’s bodies. They passively create a field around them of softly circulating fluid which extends no more than 2 millimeters off the end of their longest protrusion. This field does nothing on its own, can be viewed via doujutsu and the like, and is used in some clan specific techniques.
The clan member can, with the use of chakra, suck in and rapidly expel fluids around them in controlled jets or bursts to aid in their movement, most often used to increase their speed in controlled bursts. This has a number of uses ranging from simply running quickly to more advanced maneuvers like instantly changing direction or trajectory or going from resting to an accelerated speed much faster than a normal body could. Top-tier practitioners can enact extreme aerial stunts, stall their momentum, and move in unnatural ways.
Offensively, standard attacks see them temporarily boosting their striking speed just before impact, launching their attacking limb forward almost like a rocket. Higher skilled users can use the propulsion in reverse to emit a sudden shockwave from their vents, which adds power and slight range to their attacks. These kind of shockwave based attacks become common for older members but cause them to rebound away from their target, giving them a sort of hit-and-run method of attack. Typically, their taijutsu abilities scale more on potency than pure strength as they end up relying on their ability to accurately emit the shockwaves via their propulsion system.
Ability: Shoshin
Type: Kekkei Genkai
Description: +1 Reactiveness && +1 Potency
D-Rank: User can utilize the fluid coating around the body like an inverted water walking skill, allowing them to slide on any surface. Can slide at current speed.
C-Rank: User can emit short, controlled pulses of fluid through their Shoshin, granting an increased rank in agility while activated. Can be used in conjunction with D-rank, 1 chakra per turn. Unlocks clan-based offensive jutsu at this rank.
B-Rank: User can constantly flow surrounding fluids through the Shoshin in a much smoother manner, granting them greatly increased mobility. One increased rank to agility and react; 2 chakra per turn. Can be used in conjunction with D-rank. Can use a burst from the Shoshin to stall in mid-movement or redirect themselves 1 time before touching the ground.
A-Rank: The user's control over the fluid control of the Shoshin is superb now, granting one rank to agility, one to react, and one additional rank to either agility/react at user's discretion. 3 chakra per turn. Can be used in conjunction with D-rank. Can use a burst from the Shoshin to stall in mid-movement or redirect themselves 2 times before touching the ground.
S-Rank: Total mastery of the Shoshin sees most users constantly maintaining it, as taxing as it may be, and leading to unheard of feats of mobility, granting one rank to agility, one to react, and one additional rank to either agility/react at user's discretion. 3 chakra per turn. Can be used in conjunction with D-rank. Can use a burst from the Shoshin to stall in mid-movement or redirect themselves 3 times before touching the ground.
Clan Jutsu
Here, use the jutsu template to apply for at least a few jutsu that the clan members will be able to perform with their KKG. We request this because, while your KKG may seem reasonable when we read it, in the form of jutsu, it may not, and if we are forced to not allow the jutsu you have in mind, we want it to be at a stage when you can revise your clan.
